Francesca Berlingieri Maxwell - theatre work

My traditional training in fine art in Italy and China, my extensive studies of Art History and work in Restoration, including the observation, copy and practice of many different painting styles, has given me a unique background for scenic art.

I strive to find the right way to keep the spirit of the design from the small scale model to a 25-times-larger scale set, simplifying and reducing the medium to its essence.

I have worked with great directors and designers and developed my skills in professional and inspirational environments, and learned how to motivate a team of artists working towards a unified vision.

I have painted everything from large scale scenic art in theatre and opera to miniature props in stop-motion animation and I have sculpted, drawn, made costumes, masks, props and models in a countless variety of styles and materials.
